Training Calendar
Cohort One Virtual Classroom- Week 3
Virtual Classroom Participants will attend a virtual classroom with members of their cohort. The focus of this class is to discuss Section One - Foundations of Peer Support.
The 3 modules in this section cover how:
Trauma impacts the brain, body and behaviour,
To use techniques like active listening to communicate with a peer in a way that prioritizes safety, consent and the peers autonomy,
To encourage a peer’s independence and support self-directed healing.
Modules for Section 2 - Trauma, communication and boundaries - will be released for self-paced learning over the next two weeks.
Cohort One - Week 5
Virtual Classroom. Participants will attend a virtual classroom to discuss Section 2 - Trauma, communication and boundaries.
Section 3 -Crisis and systems navigation module will be released participants will have one week to complete this module.
Cohort One- Virtual Classroom - Week 6
Final Virtual Class for Cohort One -Participants will review Section 3 - Crisis and systems navigation.
During the final class there will be instruction provided on the practicum and community of practice.
This marks the end of the theory component of training and certificates will be issued.
Thunder Bay EPS Pathways Organizational Training
Registration for In-person, Ethical Peer Support™ Organizational Training in Thunder Bay is now open. Space is limited to 20 participants in order to ensure an effective learning experience. Ethical Peer Support Pathways answers the identified need to build capacity, advance survivor leadership, and strengthen Ontario’s anti-human trafficking response by supporting both anti-human trafficking organizations and survivors of human trafficking.
Organizations receive trauma-informed training and practical tools to understand the scope of peer support roles, create safe and ethical workplaces, improve service quality and continuity of care for survivors, and effectively support staff with lived experience.
Cohort Two - Week 1
Training starts with the release of the first section - Foundations of Peer Support. There are three modules in the section and participants complete these on their own time over the next two weeks.

Caring for yourself is essential to providing peer support to others,
To critically reflect on and create your own peer support identity and,
To understand and implement a strengths-based and hope-driven approach to healing and recovery.
