Male Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse - sign up today!

At least 1 in 5 men has been sexually abused or assaulted, either in childhood, in their teens or as adults.

To put that in perspective, every year, 1 in 5 people catch the flu.

Let that sink in.

This statistic alone demonstrates a clear need to help men process trauma and heal. But the severe lack of resources for male survivors of sexual abuse makes it incredibly difficult for them to move forward with their lives.

Crippling loneliness, unhealthy relationships, difficulty holding down a job, self-destructive behaviours, addiction, mental health issues like depression and suicidal thoughts and even violence are common consequences of sexual abuse.

You are not alone

We are currently accepting applications to become a member of Strength Found. Our next 14 week peer group for men starts May 28th 2026. Along with the peer group program we offer 1:1 peer support, various workshops, monthly ‘chill and chat’, and other social activities. There is NO COST to attend.

You’re not alone - and we can help.

Below is a testimonial from one of our male members - shared with permission

“I'm 68yrs old. From the ages of 2 to 12 I was abused at the hands of my mother. This has had a very detrimental impact on my life which I've worked long and hard to overcome. Then I found Strength Found which has been an invaluable help to me. Through participating in 2 cohorts I've been able to really grasp that my abuse was not my fault and there was nothing I could've done to prevent it. I was just a child.

Being able to build trust with other men, to hear their stories and share mine, I've realized I'm not alone, I'm not the only one. Seeing the struggles of other men gives me inspiration and the courage to speak out about my recovery from abuse without shame or guilt. The guidance of the meeting advisors as well as the manual have provided me insight and understanding, as well as ways of dealing with the trauma so I can alleviate the impact it has had on my life for so many years.

I'm thankful for the one on one peer support as this gives me the opportunity to focus more specifically on my own recovery, and I really appreciate the input of my peer supporter.

In short, Strength Found has provided me with opportunities to heal and grow in ways I've not been able to find elsewhere. I'm grateful for the support Strength Found has provided to me.

I'm particularly grateful that Strength Found is sponsored as I'm a senior on fixed income and would not otherwise be able access the services provided by Strength Found.”

Sincerely, J.N.
